I wasn't sure which category to post this in. None of them seem quite right.
This was a page from a zine I was working on in high school. The girl in the left-hand corner is one of my recurring characters -- she shows up in a number of my original short stories. She's holding my trusty TI-89 graphing calculator, which was one of my prized posessions in high school. (I was such a geek!)
Sorry about the frayed corners -- I had this hanging on a bulletin board for a few years as an undergrad.
Hmm. It's a shame I never finished that zine. I made some fun stuff for it.
This is terrific addition to your gallery and I liked reading the notes for it too. It is true that all the cool shit seems to happen once the sun goes down. Your character is interesting to me too, calculator and all.
You know...it's still not to late to turn that 'zine into something even if only for your own amusement. I think we all had those High School dreams before we understood where the adults before us came from. I think it's best not to forget that youthful vitality even if we must compromise some. As a teacher, I doubt you ever will end up that way and I bet your students will appreciate you for it.
